Extra Credit

After a long hiatus I am back to the blogging. I have read so many articles on how blogging can improve literacy and achievement on placement tests in English and overall comprehension, so I’m back.

My challenge to all of you 7th and 8th graders is very simple I would like you to follow one of President Barack Obama’s issues he is dealing with right now. Health care, the economy, foreign relations, anything! I want you to keep a journal of article clippings, your own comments, political cartoons, anything! After doing this for two weeks, hand it in to me and receive some WONDERFUL extra credit points. Typed up or hand written neatly in these journals!

8th Grade Field Trip to PA

I hope all of the 8th graders out there enjoyed the trip to PA today! I personally enjoyed the lunch St. Joe's Prep provided for us, the Freedom Rising show and the various hands on activities they offered.

I would like to take this trip next year but it is imperative we are on our best behavior when leaving the school. I am so excited we have these opportunities and I would like for them to continue.

I have read your thank you letters and I would like to say I am very impressed with a lot of them! Thank you for your thoughtful responses.

7th grade- thanks for being understanding with the classes you have had recently when I haven't been there. I count on you guys to help out when called upon and it seems like you are all coming through!

I look forward to tomorrow. I am at school right now getting the classroom ready for you guys...how does it get so messy???

Best Regards,

Mr. O
